Nvidia CEO Says AI Empowers Human Decisions, Doesn’t Replace Them

(MENAFN) Artificial intelligence is meant to support—not replace—human decision-making, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang emphasized in a recent interview broadcast Monday by a news outlet in Taiwan.

Huang underscored that while AI can augment decision-making, it cannot substitute the uniquely human capacity for ambition and personal choice. “My goals are my choice. If I want to go on vacation in Kyoto, it's not because the AI decided, because I decided it's my goal,” he stated.

He pointed out that core human functions such as setting goals, measuring progress, and adapting to change remain areas where machines fall short. “We all need to have aspirations, and now AI will help us realize those aspirations and goals,” he continued.

Rather than viewing AI with apprehension, Huang urged businesses and professionals to embrace the technology as a collaborative tool. “Every company, every professional, everybody should learn to engage AI and make them companions and assistants and helpers and tutors and our teammates to help become more productive, more successful,” he said.

Dismissing widespread fears over AI-induced job losses, Huang argued that the actual threat lies in ignoring AI advancements. He warned that those who fail to integrate AI risk falling behind in a rapidly evolving economy.

With the global economy projected to surge from $100 trillion to $200 trillion, Huang stressed that this dramatic expansion cannot rely on demographic growth alone. He noted that labor shortages and aging populations make AI indispensable for scaling economic productivity without expanding the workforce.

Just last week, Huang revealed a major initiative in partnership with Taiwanese tech firms and government officials: the development of Taiwan’s first large-scale AI supercomputer. The project aims to strengthen the nation’s AI infrastructure and spur innovation across its tech ecosystem.
