Brunei’s Customs Department Participates in Global Summit
Among the senior officials representing Brunei was Muhammad Azizil Hakim Brahim, the acting controller of the Royal Customs and Excise Department (RCED). They attended the 26th World Customs Organization (WCO) Asia/Pacific Regional Heads of Customs Administration conference, convened in Hong Kong, southern China, according to a statement released by the Department on Monday.
The gathering focused on reviewing and updating the WCO’s strategic plan, alongside sharing progress reports from regional offices. Key topics included capacity-building initiatives, compliance strategies, and enforcement activities.
Looking ahead, Brunei’s Royal Customs and Excise Department is set to host the 34th ASEAN Director-Generals of Customs Meeting, scheduled for June 3-5, 2025, in the capital city, Bandar Seri Begawan.
