Fiji Reveals National Plan to Safeguard Coral Reefs
On Monday, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change teamed up with the Wildlife Conservation Society to convene a multi-stakeholder meeting in Suva, a broadcasting corporation reported.
This gathering aimed to blend scientific research with traditional knowledge, crafting a focused and actionable roadmap for reef protection.
The initiative will prioritize preserving marine ecosystems, ensuring food security, and supporting the livelihoods of those dependent on coral reefs, according to the report.
The ministry emphasized its commitment to collaborating with all stakeholders to refine the plan, which is slated for presentation at global environmental forums later this year.
