Kremlin Attributes Trump’s Reaction to Emotional Strain
(MENAFN) The Kremlin stated on Monday that U.S. Leader Donald Trump's recent comments concerning the latest Russian aerial attacks on Ukraine were influenced by what it called an "emotional overload."
This response followed a series of statements made by Trump after Russia launched air assaults on Ukrainian territory for the third consecutive night.
In a post on the social media platform Truth Social, Trump declared that Russian Leader Vladimir Putin has gone “absolutely CRAZY.”
He reiterated his long-standing belief that Putin aims to seize the entirety of Ukraine, stating, “I’ve always said that he wants ALL of Ukraine, not just a piece of it, and maybe that’s proving to be right, but if he does, it will lead to the downfall of Russia!”
Trump further expressed discontent with Putin’s actions during a conversation with reporters at Morristown airport in New Jersey.
He stated, "I'm not happy with what Putin's doing," and added, "I don't know what's wrong with him. What the hell happened to him? Right? He's killing a lot of people. I'm not happy about that."
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Air Force reported early on Monday that it intercepted 288 out of 355 unmanned aerial vehicles and nine Kh-101 cruise missiles launched by Russian forces during the night.
Responding to Trump’s remarks, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov acknowledged the emotionally charged atmosphere surrounding the situation.
He told journalists in Moscow, “Of course … this is a very important moment, which is connected, of course, with the emotional overload of absolutely everyone, and with emotional reactions.”
Peskov emphasized that Russian leadership is carefully observing global responses. He asserted that President Putin is taking the necessary actions “to ensure the security of our country.”
