European Officials Confirm Backing for Moldova
Following discussions with Moldovan President Maia Sandu during the European Political Community gathering in Albania, the heads of government from the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Romania, and Poland — along with the presidents of the EU Council and EU Commission — released a declaration endorsing Moldova.
“We welcome Moldova’s continued commitment to democratic reform, the rule of law, and the values shared across the European Union,” it stated.
Praising Moldova for preserving internal stability despite nearby tensions and for serving as a dependable associate of the EU, the declaration also stated: “We will continue to support Moldova in safeguarding its democratic processes and strengthening its resilience against external threats.”
