(MENAFN) United States Leader Donald Trump is reportedly aiming to “make a determination for a full and comprehensive ceasefire” between Russia and Ukraine as early as the upcoming week.
Based on the media, which referenced a senior official from the administration who requested anonymity, both nations are set to be given a conclusive proposal.
President Trump has emphasized multiple times his intention to bring the Ukraine crisis to a close swiftly.
Since taking office in January, he has overseen persistent diplomatic engagement between Washington and Moscow, including numerous top-level negotiations.
On Friday, the newspaper cited a source as stating that “this coming week in London, we want to make a determination for a full and comprehensive cease-fire.”
The unidentified US official further explained that the plan is to conduct further “discussions with the Russians” to understand each side’s stance on the “final offer.”
The article also noted that Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov informed US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Trump’s representative Steve Witkoff, during a recent discussion in Paris, that Ukraine is “90 percent” aligned with the peace strategy crafted by Washington.
