Egypt Introduces New Ceasefire Proposal
An Israeli public broadcaster stated that Cairo "has put forward a new proposal regarding a ceasefire and prisoner exchange, aiming to bridge the gaps between Israel and Hamas."
The report mentioned that "the new proposal was submitted by Egypt within the past 24 hours to reach a consensus between Israel and Hamas."
Although the broadcaster did not provide specifics or conditions, it noted that the proposal falls somewhere between the initial offers from Egypt and Qatar, which included the release of five living prisoners, and Israel's suggestion, which required the release of 11 living prisoners in Gaza.
Egypt has not yet said anything regarding the report.
Israel expects that 59 hostages are still being held captive in Gaza, with nearly 22 of them alive.
The Israeli military initiated an unexpected air strikes against Gaza on March 18, resulting in 1,249 casualties and 3,022 injuries, despite a ceasefire and prisoner exchange deal with Hamas that was implemented in January.
